May 2 & 3rd I will be having a spring open studio! I’ll have my “Bike There” mini comic book available which is a great resource for beginning bicyclists and timely since May is Bike Month! I’ll also have framed/unframed prints & posters, t-shirts, and the very last 2 “I Biked” canvas bags that are left. […]
I am tired of the ever increasing number of so-called “bike safety” products. Especially when everyday I share the road with drivers like this. There needs to be a spray for them. A product that would give drivers some perspective. I can follow all the road rules, pay attention, wear bright colors, lights and shiny things while riding […]
The other day I was riding to work when I happened to notice the other people riding bicycles around me. This was more of a coincidence than typical of what I see everyday. But I wondered- does not wearing a fluorescent uniform make a person stand out more?
I have to bicycle vehicularly most of the time because there’s not much infrastructure yet. But I’d prefer not to. What I can’t understand why anyone would argue against protected bike lanes. I wonder how the argument would go if applied to other things- like a zoo?
Typically, bicycling in winter is a little more complicated but manageable. But after 5 feet of snow has fallen within a month here, this winter is nowhere near manageable. It’s pretty unpleasant to bicycle, I admit it. I’ve considered other options but all of them are even more unpleasant. And just when getting around Boston was bad, it got worse as public transit […]

Gravel or road debris may not even register with drivers except for the outside chance of a cracked windshield. But all I see is: Sometimes I report issues to the city. And […]
As I was shopping this holiday I went to a mall. And it suddenly occurred to me that, for some reason, I hadn’t gone to a mall in a very very long time. It’s one of those little lifestyle shifts that has happened with biking. I find myself almost exclusively patronizing small neighborhood shops. But that makes […]
On December 6th and 7th, I will be having a special open studios just in time for holiday shopping- I’ll have my “Bike There” mini comic book, framed/unframed prints & posters, t-shirts, and the last of the “I Biked” canvas bags before they sell out. Also, Dill Pickle Gear will be in the same room for […]
The weather is getting colder and I’ve found myself caught behind some cyclists suffering from a very specific problem. It got me thinking… if I ever Kickstarted a bike-related accessory maybe it should be this: But I’m not going to Kickstarter it. I’m afraid it would actually be taken seriously and get crazy over-funded. So, for now, if you […]
