The other day I vented to an acquaintance about an issue that’s frustrated me this winter. However, this led to several more issues for me to be frustrated about. For a moment I actually felt bad for picking this battle. But I knew this person. And if she were me, it would go like this. […]
Recently there was a report how to sell people on biking. Turns out that even though safety is a real concern, dwelling on safety messages kind of turns people off. Is this really that surprising? Any salesperson would understand why. (That’s why fine print was invented.) So this got me thinking about advertising bicycling. What kind […]
Something is a little different this winter in Boston. If you pay attention to the roads you will notice something: there’s more than one bike. Actually, there’s lots of them. Apparently even people who ride bikes are surprised by this.
This week we got a bit of snow. People are surprised I’m still biking. But really, in this whole transportation mess, I got it easier than most. I just have to take the nicely cleared lane. But there’s nothing like a little snow to show a city’s real priorities.

Bicycling is full of meet-cute situations, laughter, and the chance of romance all with a beautiful city backdrop- just like in a movie. Except it’s better than a movie because you can live it. In this world, the bicycles […]
Not to long ago, there weren’t that many people riding bicycles around Boston and surrounding areas. The few who did were pretty badass. Badass and lonely. Now the lone cyclist is not alone. Roads are changing, more people are riding bicycles… …and people are learning how to ride around other people who […]
Because people notice I bike somehow I keep finding myself in this conversation: It’s funny people think I’m athletic. Obviously they didn’t know me way back when. I only survived gym class because I pretended to be really angry when the game didn’t go my way. Taking a game too seriously seemed to be the […]
