It’s Christmas time which means everyone is dashing about the city with a long list of errands and shopping to do. It also means hauling stuff. It’s easy to think you need a car for the job. Sure, cars can carry a lot of stuff. When I was a kid I would watch in awe as […]
It will not be my first New England winter, but it will be my first biking winter. Currently the weather is unusually fall-like but I am trying to wrap my head around approaching cold and snow. After some research and talking to people it sounds like I am supposed to buy a lot of stuff […]
I have a confession. I really don’t know that much about bikes. I just like to ride them. For me it’s more about lifestyle. So when it comes to bike repairs sometimes I get myself into situations. It’s not that I don’t have the ability fix a bike, I just don’t have any experience. But […]
They are installing showers in my office building. As the one that bikes to work, everyone is eager to know my thoughts. “Are you excited?”, “Will you use them?”, “Aren’t you glad they’re accommodating you?” Meh… I don’t care about the showers. Last night I had some time to kill which I spent walking around Kenmore square watching cyclists. This is what it looked like: Okay, can you tell how many cyclists are in this scene? No cyclists you say? Look again! There are seven. See? Of course you can’t. BECAUSE THESE FOLKS NEED TO GET SOME […]
Bike helmets aren’t just good for brain-protection, they are also the ultimate accessory when I’m away from my bike. For example when I run into a cute stranger who is also carrying a helmet… That’s pretty much all it takes. I’ve considered carrying them all the time- even when I don’t travel by bike.
